The Rev. Lawrence Harrison and Rev. C. R. McCollum officiated. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery in El Dorado. Mr. Porter, owner of two Medic Pharmacies in El Dorado, died Saturday morning, April 9, 1983, in an El Dorado hospital following an automobile accident. He was a member of the Arkansas and Louisiana Pharmaceutical Associations. Mr. Porter was born September 13, 1932 in Louisiana, son of Howard "Dick" and Ila Garriss Porter, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gloria J. Porter, three sons, Gene W. Porter, Jr., Stacey D. Porter, and Stuart G. Porter, all of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Debra A. Dolden of El Dorado and Mrs. Susan P. Pages of San Juan, Puerto Rico; one sister, Mrs. Elaine Porter Martin of Winnfield; one brother, Howard A. Porter, Jr. of Houma, La.; and three grandchildren.
