Native of Calvin Dies; Rites Held at Couley Church

Ardis Quincy Powell, 65, a native of Calvin who had lived in Baton Rouge for
the past 25 years, died Thursday, August 18, 1966, in a Baton Rouge hospital
after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at the Couley Methodist Church near Winnfield at 11
a.m. Saturday.  The Rev. Richard E. Walton, pastor of the church, officiated. 
Burial was in the church cemetery.  

He was a retired oil company employee.

Survivors included his wife; two daughters, his parents, two brothers, and
several grandchildren.
