Former Calvin Resident Died In Local Clinic

J. M. Powell, 63, of Waskom, Texas, formerly of Calvin, died Tuesday in a
local hospital following a long illness.  He lived several years at Calvin and
in Tioga, in Rapides Parish.

He was a member of the Palestine Methodist Church.  Funeral services were
conducted by Rev. McCann, Rev. F. M. York, and Rev. Cory.  Burial was in
Palestine Cemetery under direction of a Coushatta funeral home.

Surviving are his wife; (daughters?) Mrs. Joe Lincecum of Georgetown, Mrs. Joe
Price of Pollock, Mrs. Tim Lovell of Tucson, Ariz.; three sons, Woodrow and
Joseph of Waskom, Texas and James T. with the U. S. Army, Fort Bliss, Texas;
three brothers, Martin, Tioga, Arthur, Shreveport, and Fred of Clarks.
