Haston Powell

Services for Haston Powell were held at 11 a.m. Sunday in True Vine Baptist
Church with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating.  Burial was in Winnfield
Cemetery under direction of Ridgley, Natchitoches.

Powell, 56, of Winnfield died at 1:29 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 1990 in
Humana Hospital.

He was a deacon at True Vine Baptist Church.  He was a veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Powell of Winnfield; four sons, Gary Powell
of DeRidder, Gregory Powell of Ruston, Garlon Powell of Dallas, Texas, and
Gordon Powell of Winnfield; one daughter, Alisha Powell of Winnfield; five
brothers, O. C. Powell and Narvin Alex Powell of Winnfield; Preston Powell
of Cleveland, Ohio, Donald Ray Powell of Menlo Park, Calif., and Bobby Powell
of Baton Rouge; and eight grandchildren.
