Final Rites for E. B. Powell Held Couley Cemetery


E. B. Powell, life-long resident of Winn Parish, died at the age of 79 in a
Winnfield hospital, October 3, following a stroke.  He was a member of the
Church of Christ, 800 Center Street, Winnfield, and services were held there
with E. T. Brazzell, pastor, and Edgar Gunter, minister, officiating.  Burial
was in Couley Cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were Clyde Smith, Jr., Charlie Lemoine, Ira Key, Lloyd
Williamson, Judge Williamson, and Oscar Bookout.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Gerillette Powell; one son, Jack Powell
of Winnfield; two grandsons, one brother, John, and one sister, Mrs. Clemie
Snelling, both of Winnfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.
