John Powell, 74, Succumbs; Rites Held Tuesday

Funeral services for John Benton Powell, 74, of Winnfield, who died Monday,
January 17, 1972 at his residence after a short illness, were held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel here.

Officiating was the Rev. Edward Smith and burial was in Couley Cemetery near
here.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Della Powell of Winnfield; one son, Lawrence
B. Powell of San Landera, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and three great
grandchildren.
