Power, 81, Succumbs; Buried Here August 16 Funeral services for Miles W. "Cowboy" Power, 81, who died at a Pineville hospital August 15, after an illness of several weeks following a heart attack at his home here were held August 16 at 3 p.m. at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. Waynon Mott, conducted the services. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Alvin Barnes, C. C. Taylor, Lehman Sullivan, Jack Henderson, Troy Kyson, and Robert Smith. A native of Texas, Mr. Power had resided in Winnfield for many years where he and his wife, who passed away last year, reared their family. He was a retired filling station operator and was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Richie, of Baton Rouge; Ford of Alexandria; and Earl of Houston, Texas; four grandsons and one granddaughter. He also left several half brothers and sisters.
