Glen David Price, of Rt. 3, Winnfield, suffered head injuries when he was thrown approximately 89 feet after his motorcycle had been struck by a 1977 Cadillac. He was transferred to Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria where he later died. The drive of the Cadillac, Martha H. Turner of 821 Henderson, has been charged with negligent homicide and failure to yield by Winnfield City Police officers. She was arrested at 12:22 p.m. Sunday. It was also reported there was no liability coverage on the Turner vehicle. The Saturday accident occurred at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Moss and South Jones St. near Tri-State Mill Supply. Price was not wearing a helmet officials reported. According to reports, Price was headed south on South Jones St. when his Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck by the front of the Turner vehicle. The Turner automobile was attempting to enter South Jones St. in a northerly turn from Moss St. Investigating officers for the City were Patrolman Dorman Guilliams and Sgt. Bob Stephens. Officials reported this is the second straight fatality in the city limits in which a motorcyclist has been killed. Obituary: Services for David Price, 26, of Winnfield were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with the Revs. Kelly Tingle, Charles Haley, and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Price died Saturday, May 2, 1981 in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was a native of Sherman, Texas and a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Janet Kelley Price of Winnfield; a son, Joshua David Price of Winnfield; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Price of Winnfield; a brother, Teddy Ray Price of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. Freda Price Zimmerman of Winnfield; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Shires of Denison, Texas; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Price, Sr., of Pineville.
