Final Rites For M. B. Parker, 60, Held at Friendship

Funeral services for M. B. Parker, 60, of Sikes, who died in a Winnfield
hospital Monday afternoon after a short illness, were held at 2 p.m. January
8, at the Friendship Church near Sikes.  The Rev. Kenneth F. Wall, assisted
by the Rev. Moffett, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Parker was a farmer of the Sikes community.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Parker, Sikes; three sons, Rush of
Urania, Ted of Olla, and Melton of New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Margie Mayes
of Columbia; five grandchildren.

He also leaves four brothers, George, J. J., and Horace Parker of Sikes, and
R. H. Parker of Rt. 1, Dodson; and three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Crain, Mrs. Mary
Thompson, and Mrs. Maggie Smith, of Sikes, and Mrs. Maude Beavers of Monroe.
