Brother of Mrs. Rardon Porter, Prominent Dallas Attorney, Succumbs

Alvie U. Puckitt, brother of Mrs. Rardon Porter of Winnfield, died Tuesday,
April 4, in his home in Kaufman, Texas.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, at the John Dean Funeral Home
in Kaufman, with interment in the Kaufman Cemetery.

Mr. Puckitt was a former Dallas criminal lawyer and had practiced law in
Dallas County for 30 years before moving to Kaufman in 1940.  He studied law
in Terrell, Texas and was licensed to practice in 1903.  Former Dallas County
District Attorney Shelby Cox described Mr. Puckitt as one of the best jury
trial lawyers in the county.

He is survived by wife, a brother, Wood Puckitt of Menard County, Texas; four
sisters, Mrs. Rardon Porter of Winnfield, Mrs. _____________
