Puckitt Laid To Rest at Old Union Thursday Mrs. Armendia Puckitt died August 29, 1934, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roden Porter, of Winnfield. Funeral services were conducted by Elder T. L. Webb, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church of El Dorado, Ark., at Old Union Baptist Church and interment was in Old Union Cemetery, August 30. Mrs. Puckitt was 81 years of age at the time of her death. She was the widow of the late Elder G. W. Puckitt, by the side of whom she was laid to rest in the old family graveyard. Mrs. Puckitt was a faithful zealous Christian, having been an active member of the Primitive Baptist Church for fifty-six years. She cooperated fully with her husband while he lived and preached. In her home people found a hearty welcome and true Christian hospitality. Her illness and passing was as serene and peaceful as had been her life. Being fully conscious her last words were "Jesus, come and take me home." She lived firm in faith and passed to the pearly gates happy in a sweet hope. Mrs. Puckitt was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survived. She had thirty-five grandchildren and forty-five great grandchildren, most of whom were present at her funeral. The children are Mrs. Roden Porter, Mrs. Ludy Smith of Winnfield, Mrs. Penny Wade, Mrs. Nelson Craft, of El Dorado, Ark., A. U. Puckitt of Dallas, Texas, and Elder Wiley Puckitt of Jasper, Texas.
