D. Puckett, 75, Buried Thursday At Gansville J. D. Puckett, 75, retired merchant of Jonesboro, and native of the Gansville community, died suddenly at his home in Jonesboro at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services were held at the Jonesboro Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Thursday, with burial in the Gansville Cemetery. Burial was under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Puckett was a member of a well known Winn Parish family. At one time he was a farmer, merchant, and postmaster at Gansville. Later he was in the mercantile business at Calvin. From there he moved to Jonesboro where he engaged in business for many years, retiring several years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ollie Stinson Puckett of Jonesboro, who is a native of Gansville; one son, _loy Puckett, West Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Gordie Stinson of Ruston, Mrs. Ella Mixon of Dodson, and Mrs. Ada Sledge, Ringold; and three grandchildren.
