All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 6, 1929 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Dexter Puckett Buried Here Monday Former Winnfield Citizen Dies In Houston, Texas, Two Weeks After Operation Funeral services for Mrs. Dexter Puckett, who died at the Baptist Hospital in Houston, Texas, last Friday, May 31, were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Grace Scott, near Winnfield, Monday afternoon. The Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery. There was a large floral offering. Besides her husband, Mrs. Puckett is survived by three children, Charles, 13, Lois, 11, and Dexter, 6, who are at the home of Mrs. Scott, and two sisters, Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Edna Wilson of Winnfield. Mrs. Puckett, who was Miss Roana Eagles, was born and reared near Winnfield. She spent her childhood days at the old Eagles homeplace on the Atlanta road and attended the Winnfield school. After her marriage to Dexter Puckett of Winnfield, in 1914, the couple moved to Beaumont, Texas. Later Mr. and Mrs. Puckett moved to Houston. Mrs. Puckett was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eagles, deceased.
