Puckett, Former Sikes Resident, Dies William Brewster Puckett, 74, merchant of Georgetown, la., died suddenly Sunday, April 14, as a result of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday at Georgetown with Rev. Dennis of Oberlin, La. giving the last rites. Burial was made in Georgetown Cemetery where the Masonic Lodge conducted the services at the grave. The Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Puckett was a merchant of Georgetown for 20 years. For five years prior to moving to Georgetown he was a resident of Sikes where he also owned and operated a mercantile establishment. He was born in Alabama and reared in Jackson Parish. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. E. C. Willis of Sikes, Mrs. A. R. Bennett of Lake Village, Ark., and Mrs. O. A. Long of Georgetown; one son, C. F. Puckett of Pineville; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. W. T. Hawthorn of Quitman, La., and Mrs. W. L. Nesbit of Biloxi, Miss., and one brother, Tom Puckett of Delhi, La. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Edward and Willard Puckett and William Long, all of Georgetown; Lamar Bennett of Lake Village, Ark.; Puckett Willis of Sikes, and Ross Willis of Baton Rouge.
