Puckitt, brother of Mrs. Rardon Porter of Winnfield, died Tuesday, April 4, in his home in Kaufman, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, at the John Dean Funeral Home in Kaufman, with interment in the Kaufman Cemetery. Mr. Puckitt was a former Dallas criminal lawyer, and had practiced law in Dallas County for 30 years before moving to Kaufman in 1940. He studied law in Terrel, Texas and was licensed to practice in 1903. Former Dallas District Attorney Shelby Cox described Mr. Puckitt as one of the best jury trial lawyers in the county. He is survived by his wife, a brother, Wood Puckitt, of Menard County, Texas, four sisters, Mrs. Rodden Porter of Winnfield, Mrs. Perry Wade and Mrs. Nelson Kraft of El Dorado, Ark., and Mrs. Jasper Smith of Oak Grove.
