Purvis Services for Clyde M. Purvis were held Thursday in Iatt Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerald Paige officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern, Winnfield. Purvis, 86, of Atlanta, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 1989 in Grant Manor Nursing Home, Colfax. He was a retired janitor for Verda Baptist Church, a member of Iatt Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Eathel Purvis of Atlanta; three sons, Murry Purvis of Atlanta, James Purvis of Neosha, Mo., and Jerry Purvis of Montgomery; two daughters, Ramona McKnight of Monroe and Naomi Johnson of Avondale, Ariz.; two sisters, Maude Fuglaar of Colfax and Lera Soden of Alexandria; 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
