Pyburn, 54, native of Dodson, and an official in the State Division of Employment Security, died in his office in the state capitol annex in Baton Rouge, Wednesday. Mr. Pyburn was working at his desk when he lost consciousness, and died before he could be taken to the hospital. Formerly a Dodson businessman, he had been a member of the Employment Security staff since 1935, except for six years with Federal veterans' administration. He was manager of the Alexandria district office of employment security for several years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Velda Raley Pyburn, of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Mary Jane Pyburn of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Thomas D., Mexico City; his mother, Mrs. G. M. Pyburn, Ruston; Helen Pyburn, Hammond, and Nita Pyburn, Tallahassee, Fla.; four brothers, Dewitt, Keith, and Aubrey, Shreveport, and H. C. of Ruston; and a half-sister, Mrs. E. S. Foster, on Jonesboro. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Thursday morning, awaiting arrival of relatives. (Submitted by Greggory Ellis Davies, Winnfield, Winn Parish, LA.)
