G. C. Quarles, 74, Succumbs; Rites At Goldonna

Grover Cleveland Quarles, 74, of Goldonna, died Thursday, November 28, 1968 in
a local hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Natchitoches Parish, Mr. Quarles was a member of the Baptist
Church where he was chairman of the Board of Deacons, a Sunday School teacher,
and Training Union Teacher.

The deceased was postmaster at Goldonna for 32 years and before retirement was
a rural mail carrier for ten years.

Funeal services were conducted Friday in the Goldonna Baptist Church with Rev.
Kit Hathorn officiating.  Interment under direction of Southern Funeral Home
was in the Goldonna Cemetery.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Jessie Williams, and a son, Harry
Davis of Goldonna.
