Lena Yough Dies After Fall From Horse Saturday

A 14 year old boy from Lena, Robert Dwight Rachal, died in Schumpert Hospital
in Shreveport at 7:10 p.m. Saturday of injuries suffered in a fall from a
horse Saturday afternoon in Winnfield.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John's Catholic Church in
Norco.  Burial was in the Rachal Cemetery of Marco.

The youth fell from a horse, landing on his head, following the Saturday
afternoon races at Pea Patch Downs.  He received emergency treatment in a
Winnfield hospital and was later transferred to the Shreveport hospital where
he died.

He was a student at Cloutierville High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert T. Rachal, Rt. 1, Lena.  Other survivors include a brother, Craig
Rachal, Lena; two sisters, Wanda Gail Rachal and Shari Renee Rachal, both of
Lena; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Argela Brossette, Pineville.
