John Rankin, 93, Dies; Funeral Rites Held Sat.

John Rankin, 93, of Georgetown, died at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 1969, in a
Columbia hospital after a long illness.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Grace Jones of Georgetown, Mrs. Lela
Meux of Hot Springs, Ark., Mrs. Lilly Ables of El Dorado, Ark., Mrs. Gertrude
Fitzhugh of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Ernestine Barker of Lewiston, Idaho, and
Mrs. Luella Smith of Benton, Ark.; four sons, W. L. Rankin of Tullos, Alva
Rankin of Nashville, Ark., Hubert Rankin of El Dorado, Ark., and Vernon Rankin
of Pineville; two sisters, Mrs. Sally Deer of Malvern, Ark., and Mrs. Nannie
Paige of Sheridan, Ark.; one brother, Bob Rankin of Kingsland, Ark.; 25
grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Georgetown Baptist
Church with Rev. Donald Lemmons officiating.  Burial was in Brush Creek
Cemetery in Leola, Ark.
