All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 10, 1969 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Ila Riser Ranney Dies In Shreveport Funeral services for Mrs. Ila Riser Ranney, 87, native of Winn Parish, who died early Monday, April 7, 1969, at Gowens Geriatorium, Shreveport, after an illness of more than a year, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the First National Funeral Home. Dr. Billy O. Smith, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiated. He was assisted at the graveside by Rev. H. A. Smith, Methodist minister. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ranney had been a resident of Shreveport for almost 60 years and had been a member of the Southside Baptist Church 57 years where she had taught Sunday School classes most of that time until her health prevented active participation several years ago. She is survived by four nieces, Mrs. George Larson and Mary Riser of Winnfield, Mrs. B. G. Newton of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., and Mrs. R. V. Shirley of Washington, D. C., and a host of great nephews and nieces. Attending the last rites from Winnfield in addition to Mrs. Larson and Miss Riser, was Mrs. Chester Derr, a great niece of the deceased.
