S. Ray Held Here Sunday Dispatcher for Tremont & Gulf Succumbs After Prolonged Illness Funeral services for S. S. Ray, 46 years old, who died at his home here Saturday after an illness of many months, were held at the family residence, Sunday, the Father Howard, conducting the services. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Ray was an employee of the Tremont & Gulf Railway Company, having been their dispatcher since 1920. November 24, 1915 he married Miss Sadie McKenna, of Sioux City, Iowa, to which union seven children were born, six of whom survive. He is survived by his widow, six children, mother, four sisters, and four brothers. The children are Bernadine, Robert, Harold, Glenn, Jimmie, and Joe Faith. The mother is Mrs. J. W. Ray. Sisters: Mrs. J. J. Carr of Eros; Mrs. Clara Jenkins of New Orleans; Mrs. Alma Suess of El Paso, Texas; Mrs. Annie Maynard of Oxford, Mass; brothers J. E. Ray, Boyce; C. L. Ray, Calvin; W. S. Ray, Monterey El Campo, Texas; Reece Ray, Alexandria. Pallbearers were John T. DeLoach, Dan Page, Ed Gassiott, James Dowdell, Clarence Dark, and L. H. Smith.
