Ray, 53, of 4461 Clingman Dr., Shreveport, a real estate agent and builder who died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday after a long illness, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Shreveport. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Ernest Miller, associate pastor of the Kings Highway Christian Church. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery in Winnfield at 2:30 p.m. with Masonic rites at graveside. Pallbearers were Blair Gray, Floyd Hodge, Harry W. Adair, Frank Shepard, Frank Grigsby, and Roy Blaine. Mr. Ray was a native of Calvin and had lived in Shreveport for 29 years. He attended the public schools in Winn Parish and graduated from Coyne Electrical College in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Ray was a deacon in the Kings Highway Christian Church and a member of the American Legion, Queensborough Masonic Lodge, El Karubah Shrine Temple, and the Shreveport-Bossier Board and Realtors. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Verda Fitch Ray; his mother, Mrs. C. L. Ray of Winnfield; two sons, Claude L. Ray and John W. Ray, both of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Lois Williamson of Jackson, Miss.; and six grandchildren.
