Ray Succumbs In Boyce Dec. 16 Funeral services for James Edward Ray of Boyce, who died unexpectedly at his home Thursday night were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 1965 in Hixson Funeral Home in Alexandria. The Rev. Roland Fredrick officiated, assisted by the Rev. H. C. Howell and the Rev. C. O. Hall. Burial was in Greenville Cemetery, Pineville. Mr. Ray was a native and lifelong resident of Boyce, a retired mail carrier, a Mason, and a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow; one son, James E. Ray, Jr., of Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Fickling of Shreveport, Mrs. A. B. Blakewood of Bunkie, and Mrs. Claudia Starr of New Braunfels, Tex., and two grandchildren.
