E. Ray Held Here Saturday Last rites for James Edward Ray, Sr., aged 68 years, 8 months, and 21 days, who died at his residence at 1768 Jackson Street, Alexandria, October 23, 1942, were held in Winnfield Saturday. Mr. Ray was for many years the owner and operator of a grocery store in Winnfield. At the time of his death he was superintendent of the sanitation department for the City of Alexandria, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 273 of Boyce, and a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, one son, James Edward Ray, Jr., of Boyce; three daughters, Mrs. Claudia Taylor of Alexandria, Mrs. John W. Wright of Winnfield, and Mrs. A. B. Blakewood of Minden; three brothers, C. L. Of Calvin, La., W. S. Of Winnfield, and Reese of Liberty, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. J. J. Carr of Alexandria, Mrs. Alma Suess of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. A. M. Henderickson of New Orleans, and Mrs. Albert Maynard of Oxford, Mass.
