Walter Shep Ray Succumbs; Rites Held Monday

Walter Shep Ray, 70, retired farmer, died Sunday, October 24, in a Winnfield
nursing home after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Southern
Funeral Home of Winnfield with the Rev. W. R. Gage officiating.

Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery.

He was a native of Winnfield, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the
First Presbyterian Church of Winnfield.

Survivors are a son, Jack E. Ray of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Alma
Fuess of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Clara Henrickson of New Orleans, and Miss Annie
Ray of Boston, Mass.
