Ray Is Buried At Sardis Cemetery Wednesday Morning Funeral services for W. G. Ray, 56 years of age who succumbed at his home a few miles south of town, on Tuesday morning, December 8, were held at the Sardis Church Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment was in the Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. W. D. Sherwood had charge of the services. Mr. Ray was born March 19, 1875 in Bienville Parish. He moved to Winn Parish with his parents, when he was a small boy. He was married to Miss Jemima Barton, February 8, 1900. To this union eight children were born, six of whom survive with the widow. They are: Charles, Vernon, James, Lynn, and Mollie Jean Ray and Mrs. Henry Ross, all of Winnfield. The deceased is also survived by two brothers: George and James Ray of Atlanta; four sisters, Mrs. Pinkie Young and Miss Percilla Ray, Atlanta; Mrs. Jennie Coonce, Jonesboro, and Mrs. Levi Drewett, Lecompte.
