Ray Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon S. E. Ray, former resident of Winnfield, died at his home in the Hargis community Friday, June 4. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 6th at 2:30 in the afternoon in the chapel of the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield followed by interment in the Winnfield Cemetery. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Luther Richardson, pastor of the Church of Christ, Pineville, assisted by the Rev. H. Corey, pastor of the Hargis Baptist Church. The deceased, until his retirement in July 1953, was employed by the Tremont & Gulf Railway Company as bridge foreman. When he retired he and Mrs. Ray purchased a home at Hargis, where they have resided since. Survivors are his widow, and one daughter, Mrs. Don Cranfill, of Austin, Texas, one sister of Grayson, and one brother or West Monroe.
