L. Wilson Killed In Skiing Judith Gail Reed, a June LSU graduate and a 22 year old Baton Rouge resident, was fatally injured Saturday when she was slammed into a pier while water skiing. The accident reportedly occurred on Bayou Pigeon below Plaquemine. The victim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Reed, 1317 Convention Street. Mrs. Reed war formerly Ollie Wilson of Winnfield. Witnesses said a boat pulling two skiers rounded a curve and Miss Reed hit a pier. She died about 5 p.m. Saturday at the Plaquemine Sanitarium. Miss Reed was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery. Also surviving are a brother, Charles B. Reed III; paternal grandmother, Mrs. C. B. Reed of Gretna; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Robert L. Wilson; and other relatives are Mrs. Ed Tullos, Mrs. O. H. Berry, Mrs. Ples Hemphill, of Winnfield, and Mrs. James Austin Jordan of Shreveport. Miss Reed was employed by Dow Chemical Company near Plaquemine.
