F. Reid Succumbs After Long Illness Funeral Services Held At The Olla Church And Cemetery On Saturday, Feb. 20 Mrs. J. F. Reid died at her home near here Friday, February 19, 1932 after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at her home Saturday morning, February 20th, by Rev. J. H. Lewis of Winnfield, Ward Two, the cortege moving immediately to the Olla Church where services were continued by Rev. E. O. Hearn of Chatham and W. P. Cupples of Olla, the concluding services being performed at the cemetery by Rev. G. J. L. Brown of Ball, La. The deceased was born October 27, 1875 near Olla, La., and was married to J. F. Reid August 2, 1893. She was converted in August, 1894 under the ministry of Rev. Grace, pastor of the M. E. Church at Olla, La., and in March 1903 in a meeting held by Rev. A. J. Vallery and Rev. A. J. McDaniel at the Smith and Adams Mill near Olla, La., she and her husband united with the M. P. Church and has lived in the church a devoted, faithful Christian until her death, February 19, 1932. The mother of nine children, seven surviving, and eight grandchildren; also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Margaret Elliott, of Olla, her husband, Rev. J. F. Reid, five brothers, two sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends. The children surviving are: Mrs. Jeff Porter, Winnfield; Mrs. Archie Sayes, Shreveport; Guy Reid, of Shreveport; Henry Alonzo, Willie, and Florentine Reid, Winnfield.
