He suffered a heart attack while hauling trash to the old Winnfield city dump. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Laurel Heights Baptist Church where he was a deacon. The sheriff's office said it got a call at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday from a service station attendant, E. J. Wright, who reported a Negro man had found Rhymes on the road beside his pickup. Sheriff Sanford Jordan and Coroner Dr. Paul Peters responded. Dr. Peters said death was caused by a heart attack. Rhymes was the retired shop foreman for Winn Motor Company. He was a World War II navy veteran and a member of the V. F. W. Services will be conducted by Rev. Charles Haley, pastor of Laurel Heights Baptist Church, and burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Flournoy, Natchitoches, Mrs. Merle Hammons, Dry Prong, and Mrs. Andrea Martin, Winnfield; a son, Conley Lisenbea, Shreveport; a brother, Roy Rhymes, Jonesboro; and 10 grandchildren.
