Voyd E. Rice, 68, Succumbs; Rites At Sardis Church

Voyd Edgar Rice, 68, a resident of Winnfield, died in a Winnfield hospital
Monday morning after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sardis Baptist Church with the
Revs. W. C. Bounds and C. W. Jones officiating.

Burial was in Sardis Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Loye Rice, Winnfield; two sons, Rex Rice,
Winnfield, and Roland Rice, Las Vegas, Nev.; four daughters, Mrs. Doris
McIlwain, Columbia, Mrs. Vaudine Smith, Mrs. Gloria Hickey, and Mrs. Betty
Mares, all of Winnfield; two brothers, Jack Rice of Winnfield and Bill Rice of
Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtie Harrington and Mrs. Bell Caskey, both of
Winnfield; 10 grandchildren.
