All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 26, 1926 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral of Miss Elva Mae Riser The funeral services of Miss Elva Mae Riser, who was killed Tuesday, August 24, in an auto accident near Waskom, Texas, were held at the First Baptist Church, Cedar Grove, Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. C. A. Voyles, pastor, and Rev. A. I. Smith, pastor of the Queensborough Baptist Church, of which she was a member, had charge of the services. Interment was in the Forest Park Cemetery, of Shreveport, during a downpour of rain. Nurses from the Tri-State Sanitarium, where she had been a student nurse, served as pallbearers. Miss Riser was the youngest daughter of Judge and Mrs. S. M. Riser, of Cedar Grove, and a former resident of Winnfield, where she was born on May 15, 1907. She had been a student at the Tri-State Sanitarium of Shreveport and was a member of the Queensborough Baptist Church. She was survived by her parents, Judge and Mrs. S. M. riser, and three sisters, Mrs. Sam Kesling and mrs. J. E. O'Shaughnessy of Cedar Grove, and Mrs. O. Hall of Shreveport. Also, Mrs. H. M. Riser, her grandmother, and the niece of H. C. Riser, of the Enterprise.
