P. Risher Held April 27 Funeral services for Charlie P. Risher, 58, of Winnfield, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Sharon Baptist Church near Sikes with the Rev. Willie James, Rev. Alson Jeter, and Rev. E. W. Evans officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Risher, a carpenter, died Saturday, April 25, at his home on North Grove Street, after a brief illness. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Horace Risher of California and Terry Lynn Risher of Winnfield; a daughter, Mrs. Nadine Clark of California; a brother, Lee Neal of Logansport; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Lawhorn of Carthage, Texas; a half sister, Mrs. Mildred Molton of Houston, Texas; his mother, Mrs. J. R. Risher of Winnfield; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Coy Miller, Earl Bates, Jr., Ralph Dawson, Henry Nugent, John Porter, and Henry Bates. Honorary pallbearers were Louie James, Lehman Sullivan, Sonny White, Jim Madden, Bill Owens, G. N. Simmons, James Skains, Troy Kyson, Roy Malone, Roy Bates, Jack Watts, Roy Waxley, Bill Edmonds, Flarce Sanders, Thomas Waxley, Curtis Bishop, Dallas Varnell, Charles Bishop, Lester Carpenter, O. B. Skains, Alton Carpenter, James Thomas, Jerry Gorham, Nick Price, R. W. Daughtry, Gary Higgs, Albert Slater, and others.
