Roberts, Sr. Services for Percy Womack Roberts, Sr., of Winnfield, Louisiana, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael D. McLaurin officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts, 84, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 1986, at Humana Hospital Winn Parish following a recurring illness precipitated by an April 1986 automobile accident. He was born April 5, 1902 at Greensburg, Louisiana, the son of Henry D. and Davie Womack Roberts. His wife, Mildred Gimber Roberts, pre-deceased him on March 22, 1977. Mr. Roberts was sanitation officer for the Louisiana Department of Health, serving in St. Joseph, Monroe, and Winnfield; a representative for many years of Paul Revere Insurance Company; and business manager and subsequent owner of Roberts Flower Shop. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a past member of the Winnfield Lions Club, and past member of other organizations. Survivors include one son, Percy W. Roberts, Jr., of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Irma Chandler and Mrs. Bobbie Nell Carter, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. Mildred (Mitzi) Griggs of Port Neches, Texas; one brother, Henry Roberts of Pineville; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Doughty and Mrs. Bobbie Bullock of Jena; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Timmy Chandler, Jeffery Chandler, P. W. "Sonny" Roberts III, Robert Griggs, and C. C. "Buck" Carter, Jr., all grandsons of the deceased, and Kirk Long, a great grandson, also Brad O'Quinn.
