Negro Man Dies When Log Falls From Loaded Truck

Berry Roberson, 53 year old Negro logger was killed instantly Monday, March
30, when a log toppled from a truck in the woods and struck him.

He was working near Hebron Church east of Sikes for contractor Louie White.

The mishap came at 3 p.m.

Roberson was walking around the loaded truck while binding chains were being
tightened around the load when the log fell.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete this week.
