All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 26, 1945 Winn Parish Enterprise Negro Woman In Jail After Fatally Shooting Her Husband Affray Occurred in Mosley Quarters Sunday Morning Honnielee Robinson, 31, Negro woman, is being held in the parish jail until the grand jury convenes in September to investigate the fatal shooting of her husband, Ernest Robinson, 29, discharged from service. The Negro man was killed with a revolver fired by his wife Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at their home in the Mosley quarters following an argument and affray. It was reported that Honnielee had sent her nephew for her brother to assist her in her trouble with her husband, but as he arrived a the steps of the home, she fired a bullet into her husband's head. She told authorities that her husband was chasing her with a butcher knife and that she fired the gun in self defense. It was said that the couple had been having 'trouble' for the past year. The Negro man lived until 5:30 Sunday afternoon. No charges have been filed against Honnielee, but she will be held in the jail until her case is investigated by the grand jury in September.
