Rites Held For Mrs. L. Roberts Thursday, May 22

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Kennedy Roberts, age 66, were conducted May 22,
1953, at the Concord Methodist Church, near Chatham, with Rev. John S. Hurt,
Jr., Rev. Cunningham, and Rev. Garrett officiating.  Mrs. Roberts, for many
years a resident of Dodson, died May 21, 1953, in a Hodge clinic after a brief
illness.  She was the widow of the late George E. Roberts.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. R. M. Murphy, Jonesboro, and Mrs. F. F.
Murphy, Snyder, Texas; six sons, J. N. Roberts, Chatham, Nolen Roberts,
Andrews, Texas; Chaplain George E. Roberts, Jr., Camp Polk; Dewitt Roberts,
Levelland, Texas; Louis Roberts, Hobbs, N. M.; and William Roberts, Snyder,
Texas.

Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons in law: Wayne, Tommy, Relton, and
Jack Murphy, Ernest Buffington, and Marion Smith.

Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral
Home.
