Homer V. Robinson, 38, the victim of a gas pipeline explosion, was buried in the Winnfield Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services observing the Masonic rites were held at the First Methodist Church at 5 o'clock with Rev. Harvey B. Hysell officiating. The explosion occurred near Houston, Texas, last Friday, at which time fourteen men were badly burned. Mr. Robinson, a superintendent of the Sharman and Allen Construction Co., received third degree burns and died Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Heights Hospital, Houston, Texas. Mr. Robinson had been employed by the construction company for four years. He was born in Saline, La. and reared in Oklahoma where he attended school in McCartain County. He moved to Winnfield when very small. At one time he was employed by a construction company in Winnfield and was also engaged in the logging business here. Surviving are his wife of Houston, Texas; a son, Homer Nordean, and his mother, Mrs. Dora L. Robinson, both of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Iuria Fogger of Winnfield, Mrs. Tom Cathey of Arcadia, and Mrs. J. W. Reeves of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three brothers, Rev. C. M. Robinson, George E. Robinson, and Julanna Robinson, all of Winnfield. Among the out of town people attending the funeral were Mr. Sharman and Mr. Allen, officials of the Sharman and Allen Construction Co., Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Womack of Jonesboro, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Freeman of Robeline, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. McMurtry of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Marcelli of Natchitoches, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wilson of Shreveport, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Freeman, and Erdis Freeman, all of Robeline, and Mr. Faulkinburg of Houston, Texas.
