E. Roberts Are Held April 18 Funeral services for Mr. George E. Roberts, Sr., of Dodson, 58 years old, who died April 16 in a Jonesboro clinic, were held on April 18 at the Concord Methodist Church, near Chatham, Jackson Parish. The Rev. LeRoy King of Hodge and Rev. E. O. Hearn of Chatham conducted the services. The pallbearers were George Terrall, Limmie Gilmore, Evan Hammett, Floyd Tullos, Clayton Norred, and Wilson Shively. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Kennedy Roberts; two daughters, Mrs. P. M. Murphy and Mrs. F. F. Murphy of Jonesboro; seven sons, J. N. Roberts, Chatham; Nolan, William, and Louie Rogerts, Dodson; Sgt. George E. Roberts, Miami Beach, Fla.; Pvt. James L. Roberts, Camp Wolters, Texas; and Sgt. Dewitt Roberts, Camp Maxey, Texas, and thirteen grandchildren. Since 1917 Mr. Roberts had lived in the vicinity of Dodson. He was born at Chatham, Jan. 26, 1886, where he lived until he moved to Dodson. He was a member of the Concord Methodist Church near Chatham.
