J. Rogers Held Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. H. J. Rogers, 80, resident of 1205 Maple Street, were conducted at the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Robert Baker, W. J. Austin, Kidd Farr, Russell Terry, C. C. Taylor, Eugene Love, Leo Shelton, and Don Turner. Mrs. Rogers died Tuesday morning in a Winnfield hospital. She had been in ill health for many years. A native of Bienville Parish, she and her family moved to Winnfield in 1917, and have been residing at the Maple Street address since that time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors are a son, Lt. Col. Poole Rogers of Washington, D. C.; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Edwin McCloy of Winnfield; two brothers, Will Poole of Bienville and Q. F. Poole of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Lucky and Mrs. Jessie Collie, both of Shreveport, and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
