Robert J. Rolen, Of Sikes, Died On Saturday, Aug. 23

Funeral services for Robert J. Rolen, 74, of Sikes, were held at the Hurricane
Creek Church on Monday, August 25, with the Rev. Dyess officiating.  Burial
was in the Paul Willis Cemetery near Sikes, under direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Mr. Rolen died at the hoe of his son, J. J. Rolen, in Sikes, on Saturday,
August 23, after an illness of three weeks.

He is survived by three sons, J. J. Rolen and O. E. Rolen of Sikes, and G. H.
Rolen of Clarks, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Etta Folden of Atlanta, La., and
Mrs. Leona Folden of Winnfield; two brothers, J. R. Rolen and G. J. Rolen of
Sikes; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Allen of Mangham, La., and Mrs. Ida Parker
of Crowville, La.  He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

Mr. Rolen was born at Sikes on April 26, 1873, and lived in Winn Parish almost
all his life.  He was the son of the late Harry and Lucinda Jones Rolen.  Mr.
Rolen's wife preceded him in death several years ago.

Pallbearers were Dock Womack, Winfred McCarty, Leon Willis, Alvis Womack,
Elvin Willis, and Rush McCArty.
