Burial was in Couley Cemetery near Winnfield. Mr. Rowell died Wednesday, March 28, 1979 in Jackson after a sudden illness. He was a native of Bienville Parish and a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ina Rowell of Winnfield; a son, John Rowell of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. James Maxey of Clarence and Mrs. James Givens of Haughton; eight brothers, Theodore Rowell, Ted Rowell, Travis Rowell, and Thee Rowell, all of Winnfield, Talton Rowell of Zwolle, T. J. Rowell of Urania, Thurmond Rowell of Weatherford, Texas, and Truman Rowell of Baton Rouge; and eight grandchildren.
