Mrs. R. L. Roy, Sr., of Five Forks Dies In Monroe, Dec. 18

Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Thomas Roy, 71, of the Five Forks Community,
who passed away in a Monroe hospital Dec. 18, were held at the Sardis Baptist
Church at 10:30 a.m. December 20, with the Rev. E. B. Barton officiating. 
Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ivy Keyes, Archie Keyes, H. C. Shelton, J. F. Barton, J. D.
Collins, and J. E. Shumake.

Mrs. Thomas had been a resident of the Five Forks Community for many years. 
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Roy, Sr., of Rt. 1, Winnfield; three
sons, Robert L., Jr., of Oakdale; Clarence of St. Joseph, La.; and T. C. Of
Ellington Air Base, Houston, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. Una Lee Lunea,
Dallas; Mrs. Anna Adams and Mrs. Lorena Vine of Newellton; Mrs. Opal George
and Mrs. Georgia Smith of Monroe.

She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Minda Chapman of Oakdale and Mrs. Ella
Spikes of Farmington, New Mexico.
