Victor M. Russell, Jr.

Services for Victor M. "Eddie" Russell, Jr., 49, of Winnfield, were held at 2
p.m. Saturday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with Dr. Calvin R.
Phelps and Rev. Grayson Watson officiating.

Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield.

Mr. Russell died Friday, August 8, 1980 in the local hospital after a long
illness.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield, a loan officer
for First Federal and Savings and Loan of Winnfield, former co-owner of
Natchitoches Aviation Service and he served as a jet pilot in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dale Moss Russell of Winnfield, a son, John
Russell, of Winnfield; three daughters, Sarah Russell, Meredith Russell, and
Claire Russell, all of Winnfield, and his mother, Mrs. Macie Lee Russell of
Edinburg, Miss.

Pallbearers were Tommy Bankston, James Machen, A. B. White, Carroll Hatcher,
Wayne Blair, and Claude Murphy.  Honorary pallbearers were Joe Mitchell, Troy
Lynn Smith, Estes Bozeman, and Dr. John T. Mosley.

Out of town guests attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pearson, Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Boone, and Mrs. J. R. Boone, of Many; Dr. and Mrs. Syd Dyer of
