H. Rushing Dies; Final Rites At Antioch Aug. 12 Mrs. Ophelia Clifton Rushing, 65, lifelong resident of Winn Parish, died suddenly at 9:15 p.m. August 10, while sitting on the porch at her home in Ward Four, Gansville Community. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Antioch Methodist Church with the Rev. Dell Durrand, Rev. Rufus B. Kitchingham, and Rev. L. M. Walding officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were the following ministers, all former pastors of the Rushings: Rev. Charles Scott, Rev. Henry Pinkard, Rev. Luther Buckner, Rev. Lewis Moffett, Rev. Fussel, and Rev. Charles Barfield. Born in Ward 10, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Clifton, Mrs. Rushing moved to Ward Four when she married C. H. Rushing of Gansville. She was a member of the Dodson Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, C. H. Rushing, Gansville; three sons, Laurie and James of Dodson, and Tracy of Jonesboro, Route 1; five grandchildren and five sisters, Mrs. Novella Dean, Goldonna; Mrs. Delia Durbin, Dodson; Mrs. Ethel Jones, Mrs. Jim Madden, and Mrs. Angie Malone, all of Winnfield. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
