Winn Native Dies April 11 In New Orleans

Mrs. Betty Moore Shelton, 90, a member of a pioneer family of Winn Parish,
died Sunday, April 11, 1971, in the Manhattan Guest House in New Orleans.

Survivors include four sons, Roscoe Shelton, Shreveport, Leroy Shelton, New
Orleans, M. J. Shelton, Hattiesburg, Miss., and Preston Shelton, Montgomery,
Ala.; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Wroten, Pineville, Mrs. H. E. McCann,
Lecompte, Mrs. Henry Dognidene, El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. Allen Barn, Tucson,
Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Howard Wilson, Delhi, Mrs. Nettie Schlock, Oak
Grove, and Mrs. Luther Jones, Monroe; a brother, C. C. Moore of Monroe.

Funeral services were held in Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Winnfield at 3
p.m. Monday with the Rev. E. B. Barton officiating.  Burial was in Brown
Cemetery near Winnfield.
