Stroud Rites To Be Held Fri. At Mt. Zion George H. Stroud, 66, a resident of Montgomery, died in the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria Wednesday morning following a lengthy illness. He was a farmer and a native of Montgomery. Last rites will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, August 16, at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church with the Rev. Dell Durand and Rev. Bonnette Ates officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Herschel Stroud of Shreveport and G. W. Stroud of Bossier City; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Garner, Shreveport; three brothers, Houston Stroud and Edwin Stroud of Montgomery, and Harrison Stroud of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Garner, Atlanta, Mrs. Hester Fowler and Mrs. Ethel Nutt, Montgomery, and Mrs. Ida Starks, Alexandria; and seven grandchildren.
