Final Rites For J. E. Shaw Held At Couley July 30

Funeral services for James Edward Shaw, 84, who died at his home in the Couley
Community at 10:30 a.m. July 29, were conducted at the Couley Methodist
Church at 4 p.m. July 30.  The Rev. J. W. Lee and the Rev. Gorum officiated.
Burial was in the Double Church Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral
Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Edwin Kelley, Bryan Kelley, Terry Shaw, Douglas
Shaw, Thee Rowell, and Ivy Rolen.

Mr. Shaw, a native of Grant Parish, and a retired farmer, had been residing in
Winn Parish most of his life.  He was a member of the Couley Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, O. H. Shaw of Winnfield and Hershell Shaw of
Shreveport; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
