Stevens Funeral Held Sunday, July 6 Jesse J. Stevens, (61 or 81) died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, in a Bay St. Louis, Miss., hospital after a lengthy illness. He is survived by a brother, Cheston Stevens of Winnfield and two sisters, Mrs. W. F. Owens of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Ettie Nugent of Alexandria. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Moore and Sister Lula Wardlow officiating. Burial was in Couley Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Will Fletcher, Ira Downs, Edwin Kelly, Jesse Rikard, and Henry Keiffer. Mr. Stevens was a World War I veteran and a native of Grant Parish. He was in the real estate business.
